Looks like you had a very productive week so far. Is the proposal you are working on for your dissertation or only for a journal paper?
Hi everyone,
Yes, we will achieve our goals and walk out of this room on Friday!
7/10: Complete CHI paper draft
7/11: Read 5 articles and summarize them
7/12: Complete the half section of CHI paper
7/13: Complete the rest half section of CHI paper
I finished the CHI paper draft. As my plan, I will read 5 articles and summarize them tomorrow to complete the Related Work section of my CHI paper draft.
7/11 (Wed) Recap
Complete only 3 out of 5 articles to read and summarize them.
7/12 (Thu) Plan
Complete the half sections of the paper with details (Related Work, Methods, Results)
7/12 (Thu) Recap
I could not have been productive much today. I was looking at my previous data again, which was not on the list of the goal poster. Tomorrow, I will try to get more things done as my plan.
7/13 (Fri) Plan
Complete the half section of CHI paper (Introduction, Related Work, Method)
Why did you have to look at your previous data? Are you working on a journal paper as well?
Hi I think we need to blog to: https://dissertationhouse.wordpress.com/blog-online-challenge/summer-2018-challenge/
Hello All, Here are my goals for DH are:
– Developing my method instrument tools
– Write introduction
– Research Motivation
– Contribution / implications
– Find a theoretical framework (by looking on 10 refrences)
Today I worked on writing questions for my survey and I am almost finished. For tomorrow, I want to complete the rest of the survey questions, add more specific questions related to parents. Then I will work on my interview guide.
1. i found 30 videos and logged them in the google sheet
2. I currently search with google home assistant and visually impaired. Ineed to do search the same videos with Siri keyword and visually impaired
Tomorrow:
I will read the Anthony and Blythe papers to make sure how to do the content analysis and the measures we need to assure if the videos are worth watchin.
hello, this morning I read one paper to see how to do my content analysis of the youtube videos. I also have a one-to-one meeting at 3pm.
I read Anthony’s paper this morning and started defining the dimensions for the videos this afternoon.
I had a productive one-to-one meeting with Dr. Carter-Veale.
Tomorrow:
I start watching the videos and see how this process goes forward.
I will also look at potential codes I may need to add to the video sheets.
Hello All,
This morning I continue looking at Youtube videos and will update my google sheet with dimensions I need for each video for the analysis.
Hope you all had a wonderful experience.
I explored over 15 videos that I had collected for my study from youtube.
I added dimensions to my google sheet regarding each video and a brief note in the beginning of each column summerizing what that video is actually talking about and making sure if I need to come back to it or not to have a complete watch
Tomorrow:
Half day I will finish the videos and the remaining will be outlining my next studies.
i think I’d better finish this reviews first because I am becoming more disappointed about the value of the videos being able to contribute to my proposed journal paper.
Good morning, exciting for the second day of DH. Today I will continue working on my method instrument.
Today I finished working on the first draft of my survey questions! Yay and I started working on the interview guide. For tomorrow, I want to continue working on the interview guide and write one section of chapter 1 (researcher stance).
Hello all, Third day of DH!! Today, I want to continue working on my interview guide. Then write one section of chapter 1.
I had my one on one meeting today, it was really helpful. For tomorrow, I will finish reviewing my instrument and complete my draft of (researcher stance).
Hello All! Today I have not been as productive as I anticipated in terms of writing, but I read an article that helped me to think about the possible topic for one of my chapters. On the other hand, I am so happy for being able to do the three minute presentation and thank you for the feedbacks!
Tomorrow: I will continue reading the sample proposal, pull out some articles for literature review, and continue to outline the chapters.
