Join us for the Winter Dissertation House at UMBC. Applications are due by December 14, 2012.

If you are a Graduate Student at UMBC, and if you are working on your graduate school courses, proposal, or dissertation, then this event is for you!The on-campus setting provides Dissertation House participants with productive and rewarding scholastic engagement. Students who participate in this program will spend each day thinking, writing, and sharing ideas about their doctoral dissertations. Students will learn effective time-management skills; learn how to set small manageable goals, and will meet with a dissertation coach in one-on-one consultations to discuss and address obstacles that might prevent them completing their degrees.This is a weekday (9 a.m. – 5 p.m., non-residential) commitment set for the week of Tuesday, January 22 – Friday, January 25, 2013.This information and other details about the Dissertation House can be found on:

About Renetta Garrison Tull
Dr. Renetta Garrison Tull is the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at the University of California Davis. She previously served as Associate Vice Provost for Strategic Initiatives at The Graduate School at UMBC, and was Professor of the Practice in the College of Engineering & IT. She was Special Assistant to the Sr. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Director of Graduate and Professional Pipeline Development for the University System of Maryland (12 institutions). Heya i’m for the first time here. I found this board and I find It truly useful & it helped me out a lot. I hope to give something back and help others like you aided me.
Goals for the next two days:
1- Finish the proposal for essay 1 of the dissertation
2- Get 50% of the proposal done for the second essay
3- Write an introduction to tie essay 1 and essay 2 and possible essay 3.
PS- I am working on a three essay dissertation on labor market regulations in developing countries.
